Employee State Insurance Corporation or ESI is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme offering full medical cover to the employees and their families. ESI Registration is mandatory for every establishment with 10 or more employees, the wages of such employees are less than Rs. 21,000/- per month.
The contribution to ESI is 4.00% of the gross salary, divided as 3.25% by the employer and 0.75% by the employee w.e.f. 01st July 2019.
